| I have made a point, over the course of my experience and education in the arts, to diversify my skills as much as possible. This has allowed me to take on and execute projects in a wide variety of media, and with very different subject matter. Below are some examples of special custom work I have created for clients. If there's a drawing, painting, sculpture, or other artistic project you've always wanted to have made, please ask! Odds are, I can make it for you. |
House Portrait
| The owners of this house commissioned a full-colour acrylic painting of their home. You can compare the original photo with the painted version below. They requested that the hedge be painted in its bright red fall colours. |
Original:

Painting:

"Becky" Dog Portrait
| This little Boston had a lot of character, and was a great portrait subject! |

"Rover" Horse Portrait
|
This commission was a surprise Christmas gift for the horse's owner. I removed a person and the background that were in the original photo, and chose to focus exclusively on the horse.
|

"Shiloh" Dog Portrait
| This portrait was also commissioned as a surprise gift. The original photograph had some problems: a powerful flash creating too high a contrast, and a chair arm obscuring part of the dog. I did my best to compensate for these drawbacks in order to produce a more pleasing portrait of the dog. |

French Cottage Painting Reproduction
|
This client's late grandmother-in-law had purchased this painting on a road trip, many decades before, through the French countryside. The original piece had decayed badly, and was incredibly brittle, with large tears, spots of mold, and considerable water damage. It was beyond repair. However, as the piece had great sentimental value as a family heirloom, they wanted to preserve the image. I was able to create an exact copy of the original, replicating every brushstroke as closely as possible. The new piece, in acrylic and on acid-free canvas, with a protective varnish over top, will last to be passed on to many future genterations. The top image is the original piece, and the image below is my version. The colours in the new one are a bit brighter and cleaner to compensate for the fading and damage in the original, but otherwise, it's a completely faithful copy. |

Loon Compass Rose
|
The piece was designed for and painted onto the floor of a screened-in sunroom at a cottage on the French River. The piece was painted with acrylic, and sealed with several layers of varnish to protect it from the elements.
