My line of leather jewellery came about, honestly, as a desire to make the sorts of things I wanted to wear myself and was having trouble finding!
My first pieces were my spotted octopuses (octopi? octopodes?), followed up by spotted squids, little colourful bats... and I branched out into larger pieces including owls and moths, incorporating distressed metal leaf in the latter.
I hadn't seen leather used in precisely this way before, but it has proven to be a great material. Malleable, durable, and surprisingly comfortable and lightweight to wear. I create each of these entirely by hand, using the same method as my masks -- but tiny!
