I love working small.

 

The majority of my pieces in the style are just 5" x 7", created on cold-pressed watercolour paper and using pencil, ink, watercolour and gouache.

These little illustration-style works are where I play around with ideas, characters, moods, and settings. The small size emphasizes composition over fine detail, though I can still easily get lost in the textures of fur, grass, or feathers -- if I'm not careful!

I rarely offer my originals in this style up for sale -- though someone could probably twist my arm. Instead, they're available as 5" x 7" prints (same size as the originals!) and art cards.
